Paddle in the sheltered coves of Bonne Bay. As the fisherman do, we’ll let the conditions dictate our plan and we’ll keep the wind at our backs. After a 1h30 paddle you will be picked up by our 7.6m (25′) 230hp zodiac-style boat and cruise back to our shop with the paddleboards in tow. This tour is more physically demanding and is great for people who have some SUP experience.

Bonne Bay is a SUP paradise with its pristine waters, quaint coastal villages and spectacular views of the Tablelands, Gros Morne Mountain and the Long Range Mountains.
Minke whales are frequent visitors and throughout the whole paddling season we see bald eagles, harp seals, common and Arctic terns, sea stars, sea urchins, lush kelp beds and colourful seaweeds, all visible from the vantage point of a SUP.
Tours are cancelled when we deem weather conditions unsafe for paddling (high winds, heavy rain, etc.)
We do paddle in rainy and cool conditions however we offer our guests the choice to cancel or reschedule their tour.
Many people get wet on SUP tours! You will need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet. We launch from our beach and you will need to step in about 30cm (12 inches) of water before you get on your board.
Water temperatures in mid-July through to September usually reach 17-19°C (63-66°F).
We provide a PFD, paddle and a leash along with your board.
You will need to bring:
- Hat
- Quick dry clothing for cooler days – hiking shorts or lightweight, quick-dry pants are generally fine.
- Swim attire for hot days
- Sandals or water shoes are ideal, however sneakers will work if you don’t mind getting them wet.
- Shell jacket – especially if it’s misty, overcast or windy.
- Sunglasses
- Sun block
- Water – we can provide a reusable bottle with filtered water onsite if you need it.
- Dry bags – we can provide a dry bag, please remember it is not waterproof!
- Treats – if you think that you’ll need a snack. You’ll burn lots of calories, especially on the SUP & Tow Tour!
Ten years old seems to be the age at which children have the attention span, physical strength and awareness of safety to enjoy a SUP tour. Our SUP equipment will fit youth who are about 1.5m (5ft) tall or more. It will be up to the discretion of the guide to determine if youth are able to participate in a paddleboard tour. Select a day when winds are forecast to be calm. Generally, morning tours are calm (but not always)!
